Ventzislav Valchev
Born in 1949. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts in 1976 with a degree in Illustration, but to connoisseurs of fine arts he is known as a sculptor. Marble figures of female bodies and ancient goddesses adorn many a Bulgarian home. His metal sculptures with images of figures and faces are well received by connoisseurs of modern plastic art. The author gracefully weaves elements of folk traditions into his woodcarvings. He has repeatedly recreated the image of Orpheus in wooden sculptures.
